A vocational chart: the twelve signs, the twelve houses and eight bodiesA vocational chart drawn as the wheel the course teaches. The outer ring carries the twelve signs from Aries, each in the colour of its element, and the inner ring the twelve houses, numbered from the Ascendant with the tenth house, the house of the Midheaven, tinted and numbered in gold. Eight bodies are placed in their signs and houses: Venus — marked in gold, the chart's strongest vocational indicator — in Virgo in the tenth; Mars and Jupiter in Leo in the ninth, two degrees apart; the Sun in Libra in the eleventh; Mercury in Scorpio in the twelfth; Saturn and the North Node in Gemini, in the eighth and seventh; and the Moon in Pisces in the fourth. Inside the wheel two aspects are drawn: Mars conjunct Jupiter, and Venus sextile Mercury.A vocational chart · 14 October 2002, TorontoAsc 12° Scorpio · MC 22° Leo♈♉♊♋♌♍♎♏♐♑♒♓123456789101112ASCDSCMCIC☉☽☿♀♂♃♄☊☉SunLibra11th☽MoonPisces4th☿MercuryScorpio12th♀VenusVirgo10th♂MarsLeo9th♃JupiterLeo9th♄SaturnGemini8th☊North NodeGemini7thconjunction · Mars–Jupitersextile · Venus–Mercury

The Technique

The Midheaven first, then the work behind it.

A vocational reading starts at the Midheaven — not for a job title, which the course refuses, but for the quality of professional identity a chart is building — and works down through the sixth house of the working day and the second of earning capacity. The significators come next, and the timing of a change last.

  • The Midheaven and the tenth house, and the planet that rules them.
  • The sixth house of daily work and the second of earning capacity.
  • The vocational significators — the Sun, Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Mars — read for the work they describe.
  • Transits and profections to the angles, and how to say what the chart does not promise.

The Problem

Your calling is not in a careers quiz.

Career advice usually starts from the market: which industries are hiring, which skills are in demand, what a personality test makes of you. The chart starts somewhere else — from the sixth house of the working day and the tenth of the public one, from the planet that rules the Midheaven and the one that has to mature before the work arrives. It will not hand you a job title. It will describe the shape of a working life, the conditions you do well in, and the years the chart makes easier than others.

  • The Midheaven

Not a job listing — the course is blunt about that — but the quality of public identity the chart is developing, read from the MC sign and the planet that rules it.

  • Daily work

The sixth house and its ruler: the routines, tasks and conditions a working life is actually made of, and whether Monday morning is tolerable or unbearable.

  • Earning capacity

The second house: what the chart says can be paid for, and the difference the course insists on between capacity and guarantee.

  • Saturn and maturation

The planet of the long apprenticeship, and why the work of a chart so often arrives late — read for the shape of the delay rather than as a verdict on it.

  • Timing the change

Transits and profections to the angles: windows in which a move is supported, and the ones that are only wished for. The course's own caution is that astrology provides windows, not pinpoint dates.

  • Guidance to act on

Entrepreneurship, transitions and reinvention — and how to say what a chart does and does not promise. The course's line for the practitioner is the page's too: the chart reveals the terrain, the client navigates it.

Common Questions

Before you enrol.

  • Can it tell me which job to take?

No, and the course is explicit that it must not. Its own list of what a practitioner should never do includes making definitive statements about what career a person should or should not pursue — no chart reduces to a single career. What a vocational reading does is describe the terrain: the kind of work the chart is built for, the conditions it needs, the capacities it can be paid for, and the periods when a change is supported. The client navigates it.

  • Will it tell me how much I will earn?

Not in money, and not as a promise. The second house is read for earning capacity — growing, stable, fluctuating or restricted — and for the kinds of activity that generate income, but the course is clear that it cannot predict dollar amounts, and that capacity has to be activated by the person holding it.

  • What does a vocational reading actually look at?

The Midheaven and the tenth house for public identity; the second for earning capacity; the sixth for daily work; the Sun for vocational identity and Saturn for its maturation; Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Mars for the drives they describe; the outer planets, the nodes, and the traditional techniques that predate them.

  • Do I need to have studied astrology before?

The course reads a natal chart throughout, so the more comfortable you already are with signs, houses and transits, the faster you will move. It builds its own method from the foundations and teaches each technique with the chart it is being read from.

  • How is the course delivered?

Entirely online, on this academy, in written lessons and fully self-paced: no deadlines, no scheduled classes to keep, and no app to install. Lifetime access is included.

  • Can I get a refund?

You may request a full refund within seven (7) days of purchase, provided you have not completed more than 20% of the course content. See the Terms & Conditions.
