The Technique
The chart is a board of nine palaces.
Qimen Dunjia (奇门遁甲) reads a moment as a board: the nine palaces of the Luoshu, with the heavenly stems, the eight doors and the nine stars set into them. This course is an introduction to that board — what it is made of, what it has been used for across its history, and how a practitioner approaches it before ever reading a chart.
- What Qimen Dunjia is, from its history to the three divination styles it is counted among.
- The parts of a Qimen chart — the nine palaces, the stems and the doors — and the story they are read as.
- The aspects of life it is applied to, and the case studies that show it still holds up.
- A practitioner's own advice for a first divination: what to watch for, and what to leave until later.
